ABOUT THE ARTIST

Élie Pellegrin was a French artist who worked in Chamonix, near Mont Blanc, from 1945. Deeply religious, he devoted much of his career to sacred art, creating medals, crucifixes, figurines, and other devotional objects.

Pellegrin developed a highly personal technique for applying enamel to metals such as bronze, copper, silver, and gold. During the 1960s, his designs became increasingly modern and almost avant-garde. He opened his own shop in 1968 and received commissions from clients in France and around the world.
