"Pulled Alexandrite" is a term used to describe a method of creating lab-grown alexandrite gemstones.

In this method, a synthetic crystal is grown using a process called the Czochralski method, which involves melting a mixture of materials in a crucible and then slowly pulling a seed crystal through the melted material to create a larger crystal.

To create "pulled alexandrite", a mixture of aluminum oxide, beryllium oxide, and chromium oxide is used in the melting process to create a crystal with the same chemical composition as natural alexandrite. This crystal is then carefully cut and polished to showcase its color-changing properties.

Pulled alexandrite is chemically and physically identical to natural alexandrite, and can be an affordable alternative for those who cannot afford a natural alexandrite gemstone.
