Many cultures have a tree of life. They are often a reminder of the connection we have to the sky above us and earth below us, and perhaps whatever our particular beliefs think dwells in all of these places. Whatever your particular interpretation, we like the idea of this circular, well-rooted tree.

This Tree of Life pattern is 7 pages long and includes details on colors and stitches used in the example embroidery. It also has two views of the pattern itself: the original direction and a reversed direction, making it easy to choose which way you want the design to be oriented regardless of which transfer method you prefer. Also included are instructions on all of the stitches used in the sample, as well as instructions on how to transfer the pattern in various ways. Straight off the printer, the full design measures about 5.5” tall x 5.5” wide, but it can easily be scaled up or down with your computer or copier.

The pattern is in PDF format and thanks to Etsy's new digital upload program, you should be able to download it immediately upon payment. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to use these files. It can be downloaded for free at http://www.adobe.com/products/reader/
