Very unusual and lovely long silver necklace with unique construction. It was made so that the ball inside its casing fits into a groove and shows from the side when the necklace is worn. The ball and the chain are shiny sterling silver..not sure what the casing is but it might be oxidized silver. This is a very unusual necklace and makes a high-fashion statement. The silver chain of the necklace is around 28" long. The cocoon shaped casing measures around 2" by 1 and 1/2" and the silver ball is 1/2" in diameter. I bought this in the 80s or early 90s from the artisan whose name, unfortunately, I don't remember. This design is very creative.
