I am showing the image itself, an image in an example frame and mat, and in an 8x10 mat I purchased at Hobby Lobby. Pre-cut mats come in a variety of colors, but you may want to have a mat custom-cut in a color to suit your decor.

Also, I have experimented on my laser printer and my ink jet printer to print a larger size to fit an 8x10 opening in a larger mat. When you open the PDF, go to File/Page Setup, select US Letter, landscape orientation, and put 157% in the size box. Then, in your Print dialog box, make sure it's printing just the Document, with None selected as page scaling, and that the Auto-Rotate and Center Box is checked. This printed out for me with the whole image visible within the automatic .25 margin printers have. Then, if you center it on the back of a mat made for an 8x10 print, there's sufficient margin to tape down. You will lose a small amount on the sides (or top/bottom) of the print, due to the different aspect ratios of a 5x7 and an 8x10 print. But the image is a high-res (300 DPI) CMYK file, so enlarging it by this much for printing on a home printer will still give you a great image to mat and frame!
