PDF pattern, 18 inch Doll Hat, Vintage Inspired

This Edwardian hat is perfect for your 18 inch doll as she strolls the decks of the Titanic or wanders through the gardens of Downton Abbey. This PDF pattern is from Crabapples Historical Collection and will complete almost any vintage inspired ensemble. The pattern is surprisingly easy to make, with complete instructions to transform an ordinary 9" straw hat into this elaborate creation.

The brim of the hat is covered with a fabric that gently tucks around the edge, and the inside of the hat is completely lined. The crown of the hat is edged with a pleated ruffle made from coordinating fabric. Silk flowers, tulle, ribbon, and an ostrich feather complete the elegant look.

There are special techniques for creating the pleated embellishment and there is also a complete video with step-by-step instructions of the hat-making process. The diameter of the brim is 9", and the crown is 4" across; it fits your American Girl perfectly.
