This small drypoint bird print is part of ongoing studies of Devon Hedgerows.
This is a limited edition fine art print.

An endangered species, Yellowhammer is dependent on Devon Hedgerows in winter. Males are unmistakeable with a bright yellow head and underparts, brown back streaked with black, and chestnut rump. Often seen perched on top of a hedge or bush, singing. Its recent population decline make it a Red List species.
Printed in brown ink on cotton paper (Somerset velvet) the distinctive yellow colour is carefully dabbed onto the drypoint plate with my fingertips just before passing through the etching press. This little bit of “finger-painting” makes each Yelllowhammer unique.

This is print 5 out of a limited edition of only 5.
Image = 7.8cm x 9.5cm; 3 x 3 ¾ inches
Paper size = 10cm x 14cm; approx 7 ¼ x 5 ½ inches
Signed and numbered in pencil.

Prints are carefully wrapped and posted flat within a couple of days from purchase.
