When creating housing & feeders, our primary focus is to create designs that will be used by the animals they're intended for. Much research and time goes into that. We've found that there are certain features a house & feeder needs to have for some wildlife to accept it, use it, and then return to it again! Through our personal experiences, thousands of customer correspondences, and years of research … we’ve discovered some valuable insights that have helped us create these wildlife-specific products. Whenever possible, we always try to include a picture of the product in use so that customers can take comfort and know that it has a proven track record. 💖💖 My wife and I (Jane & Mark) work together to make all our products. My background is in Veterinary Medicine & Animal Sciences & Woodworking. My wife studied Agricultural Econimics and grew up on a 12,000 acre farm. It is a successful operation that currently supports 4 families. She has a love for all animals with a particular affection for cats. Together, we combine our years of experiences to create housing & feeders for all wildlife .... with a special focus on cats. Since pets, cats, and wildlife cannot tell us what they're needing in a house or feeder ..... nor can they tell us how those items are performing while they're using them ..... we need to be very serious and make sure we're offering items that are waterproof, warm, and safe for them to use. We also want to provide you with as much information as possible so that you can make an informed buying decision.

* FREE Nails included for mounting ... no charge for those ... it will get you started.
* Some customers may prefer using screws ... we leave that to each customer's best decision (screws not included).
* Each house accommodates 1 wren family.
* NO PERCH. Perches only allow predator birds to get a foothold and cause problems. Most birds do not need it.
** ALSO: if you wanted the house to accommodate FINCHES, just request the large entrance hole of 1 1/4" with your order. Finches require a bigger entrance. We will confirm your order specifics in the followup order confirmation that is sent.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Wrens are one of the most common and enjoyable backyard birds. Their songs are a joy to hear during any summer day. No other bird takes so easily to man-made housing as does the wren. Therefore, it is a good idea to be prepared for these migratory birds when they return. There are many types of housing available to wrens. However, the most important feature of any wren house is the hole size which should be no bigger than 1” in diameter. The smaller size hole helps prevent other birds from nesting in the house.
This wren house is an all cedar house that measures approx 6" x 7.5" x 11". We use all 3 fasteners with each house .... nails, screws, and glue: Mother Nature is tough on outdoor items. Nails alone are not enough, glue alone is not enough, screws alone might be ok. However, we use all 3 to create a very durable item. Each house comes with a hanging eyelet secured to the top and all you would need to do is hang it from a hook or attach a small rope to it. The house has a shingled roof for house durability. A roof receives the most wear and tear on an outdoor item. We focus special attention on making durable roofs with all our products. Take care of the roof and then the house underneath lasts longer ..... just like in the homes we live in.
A unique feature of this house is it's SWIVEL FRONT which will allow you to clean out nests in between nestings. We've made this house design for many years and it is very effective in housing wrens.
