A drypoint is printed much like an etching except instead of using acid to make the ink holding lines they are created by scratching directly on a metal plate with a sharp instrument--a sharpened needle or in this case a diamond point. Drypoints are more delicate than an etching and the plate wears out more quickly so the edition size is usually much smaller.

This piece is even more beautiful in person. I can’t wait to hang it in the foyer of my house so that everyone who visits will be able to see it.
