The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) is an amazing route from the US/Mexico border all the way to the Canadian border. It passes through 7 national parks, 25 national forests and numerous mountain ranges... 2,600 miles on foot and an average hike time of 6 months. Backpacking, day hiking, long hauls or short stretches...

I learned about the trail in college, when I went to a friend's wedding and met one of the intrepid bridesmaids, who had left her PCT hike for a week in order to attend the wedding. She told me about her trail nickname, the friends she had gained on the trail, and about the tough conditions. Since then, I've met many more who have or are hiking the PCT (including Cheryl Strayed, author of her memoir Wild, at a book event) and look forward to my turn on this awe-inspiring trail.

Hike this trail plus the Appalachian Trail and the Continental Divide Trail and you've achieved what's known as the "Triple Crown" - a rare accomplishment!

Have an extra moment? Look up the records for youngest hiker, fastest time, etc, on Wikipedia. Jaw-dropping!

This is an unframed archival print on high-quality smooth paper. Watermark is not included on the actual print. The illustration was created with watercolor and ink.
