PDF Reproduction - 1926 - Fancy Dress Catalog - Butterick Vintage Halloween Costume Party - Instant Download

This listing is for a high quality digital PDF reproduction of the 1926 Butterick Fancy Dress Catalog. It contains no actual patterns, but is full of exquisite illustrations and costume inspiration. It offers a unique glimpse into what a costume party of the era might have been like, including a description of a fortune telling game to include in the festivities! From the text:

"Halloween, Thanksgiving Eve, New Year's eve, Valentine and April Fool's day--these are just a few of the many occasions that give you an excuse for holding a fancy dress party. And what shall you wear? It is really very hard to choose your costume when you have so many lovely ones to select from. Choose a costume that is suitable for the occasion and one that you can carry off with spirit and elan. If you must be serious, have something stately and rather grand...and whatever else you do, leave your dignity at home in your top bureau drawer. It's the carnival of fools as well as of fool's motley."

Perfect for anyone with an interest in vintage Halloween and masquerade traditions, vintage costumes, fashion history, fashion design, the early 20th century and fashion illustration.
