A square shaped scarf, probably made of silk or a silk blend (no tag). The scarf has a teal blue pastel color background, the edge is printed with teal dots. The centre of the scarf looks like an aquarelle painting, featuring flowers on a white background. The flowers also have a teal color, light and dark, and also there are some pink and green pastel details. Hand rolled and hand stitched hems, signed “Jacques Fath Paris” in the right lower corner. This signature dates the scarf to the Eighties/Nineties, although the style gives a definite Fifties impression. Design of the Maison Jacques Fath in Paris. Jacques Fath was a French couturier (1912-1954) whose influence is considered very important for French couture after WWII, together with Balenciaga and Dior. The Fath haute couture business closed down in 1957, but perfumes and accessories business went on. From 1989 the brand is owned by several financial companies.
