Putting all focus on perfection, every cowhide rug is carefully made. Putting priority on only the best parts of every leather cowhide without any imperfections, as well, eliminating any natural imperfections. 
 
We carefully piece every cut of cowhide together, making sure that all seams are aligned straight and without any open space in between.
 
Our stitching is a narrow and short zig zag stitch, in order to make the stitching of the cowhides the least noticeable possible for a patchwork cowhide rug. As well, a narrow and short stitch makes the stitching the most secure. The thread is a high quality nylon and is impossible to break

The backside is lined with a eco-friendly fabric and is wonderful for protecting the bottom side of the leather. The hide rugs are finished with light weights under each corner to help weigh corners down, and then the fabric is closed up and secured with a binding tape to ensure all edges stay straight and flat to the floor.
 
Cowhide rugs are very easy to maintain, and as they are naturally stain-resistant, you never have to worry about a spill not coming out. Simple frequent vacuuming is required to remove any dust or particles. Simple mild soap and warm water with a cloth can easily remove any spills or stains. Our tannery starts with hides from only very exclusive farms within Argentina that only raise "grass fed free-range cows" and are not fed chemicals inside feed lots, ensuring that the leather underneath is the softest possible, the hairs are the shiniest, are fully haired cows, along with the most pleasant leather smell. Our hides are tanned with a chromium that is the most prestigious technique and method to tan the hides to give you 100% confidence that the hairs will never fall out and will be the shiniest hairs you will ever come across. You will notice the shine from across a room...PURE LUXURY!

YOU NEED TO KNOW: The product in the photo is just an illustration photo, as all are made to order. As all cowhides are unique from one another and no two are identical, your finished rug will not be identical to the photo but extremely similar. We try our hardest to locate the closest natural color to the photo but the color may be a tiny bit darker or lighter. All cowhides come from once living cows, therefore they generally have some natural variations and that is why cowhide rugs are so noble and unique!

We will accept returns when contacted within 3 days upon receival of merchandise. As all orders are made to order, we will only accept the return if the product received is defective or nothing like what was ordered. Item must be returned back exactly how item was received. Please only purchase our items if you are a serious buyer. You will need to contact us first to receive confirmation of approval and then we will pass on return instructions. Item is to be shipped back to Argentina with a tracking number. We will make the refund once we receive the item back. If you contact us after 3 days of receival, we will not honor a return.

LIFESTYLE by Cara was found in the year 2009 by Cara Welch, an American that moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina. As Argentina is famous for its beef, the amount of leather is in abundance and is considered the best leather in the world. Argentina is a culture that has always been accustomed to many products made of leather for their every day lifestyle. Cara worked for the company GUCCI for several years and already had a trained eye for nothing but the best leather and detailing. As well, she always was into art and anything that involved creativity and loved interior design and fashion. She started out by offering cowhide rugs and then slowly dove into cowhide patchwork rugs, leather chairs, and other home decor items made of leather. After spending time observing how other factories made the items, she eventually learned that she could do this all herself. She eventually opened her own small factory and gathered a very experienced and skilled team to put their heads together and create new things and twists to what she was always selling and is proud to say that everything that she offers is carefully analyzed and every single product is one of a kind. The fun part is that every day, the factory is producing something new as not one product is alike. She spends a lot of time in the tanneries to locate the best cowhides and leathers according to the colors in orders. From the design process with CAD, to the laser patterns, to the metal matrices, every single step is carefully thought out. And then comes the selecting of the leathers. As not one cow is alike, not one cowhide is alike. It is an artful process to select the hides to be used for each order. The chairs are all handmade to order and are made with a thick saddle leather. The leather selection process to choose each sheet of leather for the chair covers is also tricky as to find large pieces that do not have imperfections or scratches is very challenging and takes a lot of time passing through each sheet of leather amongst 300 + pieces of leather. Never a dull moment in this business and Cara loves every single moment of it. The longterm plan is to expand the selection of products to additional home decor products but every new development takes a lot time and careful analyzation.
