The Nartizt Crossed Strap Plus Size Apron is a PDF sewing pattern by NartiztPaints.

I searched high and low for a plus size pattern for the popular Japanese style crossed strap apron to wear while I paint or cook. I couldn't find one, so designed one for myself. It turned out great and fits perfectly.

Example is shown in the photo. Pattern is cut on fold, to create one large cut design. The only seams are at the shoulder. Edges are finished with purchased 1/2" extra wide double fold bias tape trim.

FABRIC - 2 yards (45" or 60")
(suggested fabric – I like a slightly heavy fabric such as cotton duck, denim, or linen. There are lots of fun prints in the "decor" cotton duck section of the fabric store. )

NOTE if your selected fabric has a noticeable one-direction design along the length, be sure to pay attention to that when placing the pattern on the fold of the fabric that it is going in the right orientation for the front of apron top to bottom. Depending on your pattern size/width of your fabric, you might need to fold the fabric on the width, not the length - so if your design runs the length of the fabric - be sure to pay attention to the correct orientation before cutting.

TRIM - approx 7 1/2 yds of 1/2" extra wide double fold bias tape trim.

This pattern is for a plus size and has an easy fit from 1X to 3X, designed to wear over clothes. Instructions are listed on the pattern pieces. The length in front is about 38", bib area at the bust is about 14" wide finished. There are no side seams, but from side seam area left to right measures about 30". Because of the open back style, fit is very relaxed to fit most people.

This PDF pattern contains 20 pages of tiled pattern pieces to be printed actual size on 8.5x11 paper, then taped together to form full size pattern. Once fabric is cut, you will have only 1 piece of fabric, with only two seams to sew at shoulders. Edges require "stay stitching" to prevent stretching, then purchased bias tape is attached to cover edges. Includes pocket pattern piece.

Good for those who are ambitious beginners.
