Asian Ball-Jointed Dolls? What is that?

These dolls are called Asian Ball Jointed Dolls (ABJD). They’re made from polyurethane resin, strung with elastic, and have ball-and-socket joints. Most are made in scale with humans, so 1/3, 1/4, and 1/6 of an average human. For example, a 1/3 scale doll (or SD size) is approximately 22-24 inches tall. 24 inches is 1/3 of 6 feet... so if you think of how big a 6' tall human is, that is the scale of a 24" tall doll. A 1/4 scale doll is approximately 16-18" tall, and a 1/6 scale is about 10" tall.
