Would you like to know who are the Amish people?
The Amish ( Pennsylvania Dutch: Amisch, German: Amische) are a group of traditionalist Christian church fellowships, closely related to but distinct from Mennonite churches, with whom they share SwissAnabaptist origins. The Amish are known for simple living, plain dress, and reluctance to adopt many conveniences of modern technology. The history of the Amish church began with a schism in Switzerland within a group of Swiss and Alsatian Anabaptists in 1693 led by Jakob Ammann. Those who followed Ammann became known as Amish.
In the early 18th century, many Amish and Mennonites emigrated toPennsylvania for a variety of reasons. Today, the most traditional descendants of the Amish continue to speak Pennsylvania German, also known as "Pennsylvania Dutch," although a dialect of Swiss German is used by Old Order Amish. The Amish women and I have worked closely together and recreated these fine colorful rugs that can be used as the throw rug, beautiful table center piece, wall hanger, or simply in fire side settings.

These beautiful rugs are currently very popular with up beat American families who wish the simple touch and elegance of this western frontier creations.

I would like to say these are not simply rugs - this is art , created with a lot of love and care by me and my Amish friends.

The rugs are created with 100% cotton, eco friendly and can be used in every day life and handed down as heirloom from one generation to the future generation.

How to take care of these beautiful rugs ? The answer is - very simple.

Soak in a cold water in a tub or soak in the machine with a little of simple soap or washing liquid , take it out ,rinse in a clean water , then dry flat or use the line outside , please remember never put a handmade item into a dryer or wash in a washing machine.
