Gauze knit stockinette tubing is used to make the inner head for Waldorf, Waldorf-inspired and Natural Cloth Art Dolls.

100% cotton - made in Canada.

Use a double layer of tubing for doll sizes larger than 10” or when needle felting overtop of the gauze.

When determining which size to use, remember that a doll with a proportionately larger head will need wider tubing. If you plan to needle felt features on top of the stockinette, you might want to use a smaller size, if you plan to put the stockinette over needle felted feature to smooth out the felting, use a slightly larger size.

5/8” (1.58cm) - use for pocket dolls 2” - 4” (5 - 10cm) Stretched total circumference of tubing = 3.15” (8cm)

7/8” (2.2cm) - use for larger pocket dolls - 6” - 8” (15 - 20cm) Stretched total circumference of tubing = 4.33” (11cm)

1 1/8” (2.86cm) - use for dolls 7” - 10” (17 - 25cm) Stretched total circumference of tubing = 6.3” (16cm)

1 1/2” (3.8cm) - use for dolls 10” - 16” (25 - 40cm) Stretched total circumference of tubing = 11” (28cm)

2" (5.08cm) - use for dolls 12” - 18” (25 - 40cm) Stretched total circumference of tubing = 13” (35cm) (or larger dolls with smaller heads)

2 5/8” (6.6cm) - use for dolls 14” - 23” (35 - 60cm) Stretched total circumference of tubing = 15.75” (40cm)

(Please note that the un-stretched width may vary slightly for each package - however, the stretched width remains the same)

I was so grateful to find the right tubing for Waldorf doll making, but I would love more information available for what size tubing for what size doll head or length of doll. Otherwise completely satisfied! Thank you for providing this material!!
