This listing is for a PDF reproduction of the rare "Designing and Planning Clothes" book published by the Woman's Institute of Domestic Arts and Sciences in 1925. This book is profusely illustrated with instructive illustrations, figure charts, and 20s fashions by Alice Seipp. It was part of a six book set of large format dressmaking books published in 1924-25. (All books coming to my shop very soon--another is listed here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/251577054 )
This book is a great resource for designing 1920s style clothing to flatter any figure. See the photos for the full table of contents. It provides guidance in creating original designs and choosing colors, fabrics and hats. Fourteen different body types are included, with outline drawings that would be perfect for printing and using as a base for sketching fashion illustrations over. I love to see realistic figures included in a book about fashion!
This item is 57pgs including covers, and has been scanned in full color; however, at a file size of under 20MB it is small enough to be iPad and tablet friendly. I'm happy to email a higher resolution as well--just write me a note with your desired email address when you check out.
This magazine would be of interest to the designer, collector, the vintage inspired sewist and the fashion historian.
This item will be available for instant download as soon as payment is received.
