This is a classically shaped bowl that I have turned from a dogwood log. The finished piece was oriented in the log to present a pleasing display of the wood's natural color and figure. I have added a bead to the outside of the bowl to create visual interest and appeal to the touch. The size and shape of this bowl offers many uses, including salad serving, fresh fruit display, popcorn/potato chips, and numerous other uses that past customers have chosen. The finish is Deftoil, which is a blend of urethane and tung oil. Deftoil is a penetrating finish that goes into the wood and not on it, leaving the appearance of a natural hand rubbed finish that feels soft and smooth, and is pleasing to the touch. The finish requires no maintenance beyond gentle cleaning. Care and Caution description included.
