I am generous in my sizing. Please look at my measurements and then MEASURE your child.
They have two layers of minky- inside and outside, so they are SUPER cozy on the inside where you want them to be. The length is measured from the top to the bottom of the tail (not including the fin). THey are meant to go up to the chin, so if you only want it to go to child's waist, then size down.

Arrived very quickly and is going to be the perfect Christmas gift! I was gifted a mermaid blanket three years ago and am thankful that there was a tag on it so I was able to purchase the same high quality for this gift! Thank you ♥️

Big, comfy and hilarious. I bought this because the corner where my desk is gets very, very cold in the wintertime and, since work-from-home looks like it's going to be the norm for me for a while, I decided something like this would be great since it's less likely to get tangled up the wheels of my desk chair. The fabric is beautiful, it's very warm, and it does exactly what i need. Plus I look kind of ridiculous and I love that I get to attend meetings while I'm being eaten by a shark from the waist down :P Quick update: it washes super well! I make sure to use the delicate setting on the washing machine and low temps in the dryer. The result is usually that I put it into the dryer for about 40 minutes on low, then turn it inside out and dry it for another 40 minutes, or else the inside doesn't dry completely.
