From the always remarkable Victoria Tane!
She is the first jewelry maker that I have known who made recycling the main focus in her designs and that principal has made her a very famous person!
She is an award winning artist, she designs one-of-a-kind and limited edition jewelry using antique, vintage and recycled elements and is inspired to find new uses for old things not generally associated with jewelry.
I interviewed her a few years ago on "The Total Woman" and was blown away by her work philosophy and dedication to making old things new again...a passion I share with her in my own jewelry!
I am including two pictures that were taken of her on one of the shows we did together...she designed the mask too!
Victoria is a very unique person...started her jewelry business by herself and built it into a sought after brand. In only a few years she had buyers who were enchanted with her earth friendly creations.
These earrings were one of her first big triumphs There was a wonderful matching necklace that accompanied these earrings. Unfortunately, I have already sold them...but the delightful earrings are still available!@. Many of her collectors believe these earrings are among her very best work!
They are light weight, very striking and comfortable to wear too!
A perfect gift for a baker!
Victoria was a really remarkable woman and I am proud to have had her as a friend and inspiration. Owning a piece of her jewelry is owning a slice of American jewelry history.

A QUOTE FROM VICTORIA TANE HERSELF
"As owner of Victoria Tane Studios I am the creator of a line of green-based jewelry and accessories from vintage, handmade, and recycled elements. As an artist and entrepreneur I am motivated by the 3 R's -- Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle. My work involves looking at things not as they are but as they could be. This means finding a new use for old things not generally associated with jewelry. Among the diverse array of components featured in my work are peach pits, telephone wire, chandelier parts, old buttons, recycled leather, and, even, rabies tags. I make my living principally by selling my work at 26 fine art and craft shows in the Northeast."
