WALNUT HARDWOODS
The color you see is not a stain; it is the natural color of this beautiful hardwood. Black walnut is the darkest wood we offer, and can range from a medium brown to a dark rich brown. Sometimes we see a little bit of light sapwood, sometimes darker chocolate brown streaks or even a purple hue. When making our tabletops from two pieces of wood, we work very hard to match the color and grain so it appears intentional and seamless. Because wood is a natural product, its beauty marks are normal, and may include knots, knot holes, worm holes, large streaks or sections of light or blond sapwood and/or variations in grain and color. These variations are what make each piece unique. Any significant knot holes are filled with epoxy to be sure dust doesn't collect in them.
