A fun and enchanting necklace to wear and enjoy featuring a faerie peeking from a log. Faeries are guardians of earth energy, are fond of animals and those humans who care for them. Of course faeries are also ethereal, they have magic, sometimes using it for good and at other times to stir up mischief. The pendant is accented with a rough Citrine shard, Peridot and Black Onyx beads. Citrine transmutes negativity while Peridot helps to increase confidence and Black Onyx helps in decision making.

The Faerie Tube Bail is 1 inch wide and 1/2 inch tall, with the overall length of 2 1/4 inches. The bail accepts a 4mm cord and is Pandora friendly, an 18" woven leather cord is included with this piece of artisans jewelry. A dark patina has been applied to enhance the detail and give contrast to this magical piece of fantasy jewelry. The angled view of the woodland pendant shows the dimension of the faerie pendant.

I started by creating a detailed pencil drawing of this fantasy jewelry design to refine my idea and layout the design of the piece. I then begin to sculpt everything in wax, first by addressing the overall composition, then proportion and musculature, lastly overlaying all of it with detailing. After the wax sculpture is complete it is cast in sterling silver, excess metal is removed, rough polished, and patina applied. Hand polishing followed by a coat of Renaissance Wax is gives the silver a soft glow and helps protect against tarnish. It is a time consuming process, but one that I thoroughly enjoy.
