Stunning Red Ruby and Sterling Silver Necklace, with seven real rubies for extra special Good Luck! The necklace length is adjustable, to change with your mood and neckline. The first photo shows the approx. 3 lengths.

Made with seven hand-picked Rubies, the necklace is easily adjustable from approx. 16" - 19" long (40.64cm - 48.26cm), with a Sterling Silver Bar Link chain and hook clasp. The Rubies are approx. 5/16"-3/8" (8-10mm), opaque, and full of earth's beauty and imperfections, so you'll know they're real! A rich, deep rich, almost burgundy, each Ruby is faceted by hand, set in Sterling Silver with Rhodium (a relative of Platinum, Rhodium keeps the Sterling Silver Bezels shining bright, NO tarnishing!).

WHY RUBIES?
In the ancient Sanskrit, ruby is called "ratnaraj," the King of Gemstones. Rubies are mentioned four times in the Bible, associated with attributes like beauty and wisdom. In the first century AD, the Roman scholar Pliny included rubies in his Natural History, describing their hardness and density. Ancient Hindus believed that those who offered fine rubies to the god Krishna were granted rebirth as emperors. Ruby retained its importance with the birth of the western world and remains one of the most sought-after gems of European royalty and the upper classes. Ruby is the birthstone for July and the gem for the 15th and 40th anniversaries.
