What is a digital printable file, and what are the advantages over a physical print that is shipped to me?

A digital printable file is a JPG or PDF that you can print yourself or have printed through a print shop or photo lab. By purchasing a digital printable file from my shop, you have the advantage of being able to print your item when you want and however many you want! You also have the luxury of printing right away versus waiting for a print to be shipped to you in the mail. Digital printable files can be used in a wide variety of ways, including photo gifts and even on social media. Most of my items (invitations and posters) can be printed through photo labs for same day printing!

Will any physical items be shipped to me?

No, all items in my shop are high-resolution (300 dpi) digital printable files that will be available through instant download or will be emailed to you (customized orders). No physical items will be shipped to your address.

How do instant downloads work?

An instant download printable file in my shop is a high-resolution (300 dpi) file (JPG, PDF or both) that is available to you to download through Etsy as soon as your payment clears. Due to the nature of instant download digital files, all sales are final and no refunds will be given. However, please contact me if you experience any issues with your files.

Where is my instant download sent?

Instant downloads are sent to the email address associated with your Etsy account. You can also access your instant downloads under "Purchases" in your Etsy account.

Do I get to see a proof before the final files are emailed to me?

Yes, for custom designs, you will receive a proof via Etsy to review, revise and approve before the final high-resolution file(s) are emailed to you. Two small rounds of revisions are included with each item purchased. An additional two rounds of revisions can be purchased for $5.00 USD.

Help! I need a change after the final files were sent to me!

No worries! Simply purchase the "Oops" listing from my shop for $5.00 USD, and I will revise any completed order for you.

What is your turnaround time?

Turnaround time varies with items (large decor packages take longer than invitations, etc), but all orders are completed within 2-3 business days. I do my best to get you your order as quickly as possible. My shop is open Monday-Friday, and orders are processed during that time and occasionally on weekends. If you need a guarantee that you will receive your item quick you can purchase the 24 hour RUSH option available in my shop. Please note, this add-on does not apply to large decor packages. Large decor packages require a $10.00 USD fee for a 24 hour RUSH. Please see decor listings for details. Please note, it can sometimes take up to a day to process and email the high-resolution files after I receive your final approval.

I have an idea of what I want for an invite. Is that something you can do?

Definitely! Custom invitation design requests start at $14.50 USD. Please message me with the details and I can provide you with a quote.

What type of photos are suitable for printable items, and how do I get the photo to you?

High-resolution photos from a digital camera work best, but photos taken from today's fancy cell phones usually work fine as well. The important thing is to make sure you are sending me the actual photo, not a screenshot of a photo. Also, photos from social media sites are generally very low resolution since they are for web usage and are not recommended. I am happy to check the resolution of a photo for you if have a question as to whether or not it will work. You can upload a photo through an Etsy conversation (just click "attach image" at the bottom right of the message window), or you can email it to me at idratherdoodle(at)gmail.com.

Where should I have my item printed?

You have a lot of options when it comes to printing your digital items! You can print yourself or have your items printed through a printer or photo lab. Photo labs (Walmart, Walgreens, Costco, etc) work great for invitations and signs. Staples and FedEx are also great options. You can print my items just as you would any photograph. I would suggest a matte finish to reduce glare if used in photos. If your printer has certain specs, please get those at the time of your purchase.
