Details
My papercut house portraits are digitally designed, then created by hand, building up layers of quality fine art paper to create a 3D textured surface reflecting the colours and materials of the building. I use tiny scissors to ‘draw’ with blocks of colour and my (sometimes wonky) hand-cut lines add a unique quality to the handmade artwork. Windows are cut out using a scalpel and tiny details are meticulously cut and assembled to keep as much of the character of the house as possible. Shadows give the illustration depth and reflections in the windows add interesting shapes. Simplified semi-abstract shapes of trees and plants break up the angular lines and add seasonal colour and more depth, with contrasting colours in the foreground and more muted tones in the distance.

Portraits are signed and dated on the back. The wooden frame is not included.

Sizes
Custom papercut home portraits are available in 3 sizes (all sizes are approximate), with or without white mounts. The larger the size of the papercut, the more detail can be included.
- Large + Mount is mounted on a white card border which measures 40 x 30cm (16 x 12 inches).
- Large (A4) is unmounted and measures 29.7 x 21cm (11.7 x 8.3 inches).
- Medium + Mount is mounted on a white card border which measures 30.5 x 25cm (12 x 10 inches).
- Medium (A5) is unmounted and measures 21 x 14.8cm (8.3 x 5.8 inches).
- Small + Mount is mounted on a white card border which measures 22.5 x 17.5cm (9 x 7 inches).
- Small (A6) is unmounted and measures 14.8 x 10.5cm (5.8 x 4.1 inches).

How to Order
To place an order, you will need to purchase the item required, then provide a good quality high resolution (preferably 1MB or more) digital photo of the house via Etsy Messages within 48 hours of ordering. Please let me know if there are any elements of the photos you would like to be edited, for example 'please don't include the bins'.
