1850 Map of Oxford University and City Reproduction Print, Vintage Nathaniel Whittock Birdseye View Poster, Antique Carfax Tower Wall Art

Step directly into mid-19th-century Victorian academic history, gothic university architecture, and classic English panoramic draughtsmanship. This beautifully restored fine art reproduction features the celebrated steel-engraved view titled Bird's-Eye View of the University and City of Oxford, drawn by artist Nathaniel Whittock and engraved by John Whittock (c. 1850).

Dedicated to the Chancellor, Masters, and Scholars of the University of Oxford, this sweeping perspective looks across the ancient city from high above Christ Church Meadow. Rendered in rich monochrome steel-engraving tones with subtle, warm paper undertones, the view illustrates the historic university quads, chapels, and spires stretching from the River Cherwell to the distant Oxfordshire hills. From the iconic domed profile of the Radcliffe Camera to the central landmark of Carfax Tower standing at the town center crossroads, every architectural detail, college garden, and tree-lined meadow is preserved in museum-quality clarity.
