Men's Brown Leather Brogues or Wingtips in Size 8. Very good condition, with old-style skinny waxed shoelaces. Does not include shoe-trees pictured, but they were stored for these past several years with the shoe-trees in them, so they are in very good "shape."
These were my father's shoes. He was kind of a square, meaning he was conservative and traditional but didn't have a lot of snootiness about him, even though he tried. He tried to be snooty but he just didn't have it in him, since he basically didn't care for snooty people. The result was that he didn't have a clue about status symbols when it came to clothing or dressing. He just bought good stuff that he liked and that he thought was of superior quality. I am not certain of the brand of these shoes. The Oxford Wingtip Brogue is a classic by which all classic shoe styles are measured. Think Mad Men, think Wall Street (my father was both). This pair in a classic warm, nearly oxblood brown will go miles with you on your way to the top of the ladder.
They show gentle wear, worn moderately on the sole and heel, with a few scuffs at the toe. He took good care of his shoes, Dad did. I used to earn extra allowance money by polishing his shoes, so if there's a little extra stuff in the holes, well, that's me.
My father wore a size 8, so that's what these must be, though they don't have anything marked as such inside them. A tape measure inside the shoe from toe to heel says they are 11" long inside.
