The pattern comes as a PDF file that you'll be able to download immediately after purchase. In addition, the PDF files are available in your Etsy account, under "My Account" and then "Purchase" after payment has been cleared.

I recommend using 14 count Aida fabric with 3 strands of DMC floss. If you want the project to be smaller, use 18 count fabric and 2 strands of DMC floss.
