People have ask about the wire mesh and if bird seed falls through?
The wire Mesh is 1/16" squares. I have recently tested this on may Large Bird Feeder to see how much seed may fall through. I used a mixed seed and the only seed that fall through was the Millet, which is a very small seed. I put in 1 lb. of mixed seed and only 1.9 oz. fell through and that's after I shake it a few times. I have found that any seed that falls through the bird will eat it from the ground.
