A classic baby gift and lifelong family heirloom. This spoon is hand stamped with the baby's name and a tiny heart in a classically elegant lowercase font. Perfect for a welcoming gift for the newest family member, or to mark the very special occasion of a baptism or christening.

Please note that the pieces shown are examples of my work. All of the silver that I work with is acquired through antiquing, estate sales, and local auctions. Silver patterns will vary with what treasures I find each week :) I will be happy to provide photos of the patterns available upon request -- but I assure you that each piece and pattern is beautiful. Each is stamped on an antique demitasse spoon -- a petite vintage silverplate spoon, approximately 4 1/2 inches long. Just perfect for baby :) These are genuine vintage spoons, each over 50 years old, and those years will show in the fine lines and patina unique to each piece. They are polished and hand stamped - each letter being individually hammered into the silver, then finished with a hand tied ribbon and tag. Because they are antiques, they should be cared for with a gentle handwashing and towel dry.

Hand stamping is a very old craft, done with a hammer, anvil and steel stamps. Each letter is hammered individually into the silver. There may be slight variances in the spacing and depth of the lettering. It is intentional and yields a hand crafted, artistic look befitting the vintage silverware. Hammering into the front of the silverware will leave a small mark on the back. This is not a defect, but rather a sign of a well crafted piece — like the knots on the back of embroidery or the stitching on the back of a quilt. I hope you see this and know that every letter on your silverware was lovingly placed there. May it bring joy to your table!
