'It was a hot and blistering summer day. The kids were out of school for summer vacation and we had decided to take a little road trip up into the mountains to our favorite getaway spot. With the air conditioning in the car cranked up to high, we headed down the interstate toward the quiet little lake and picnic area that awaited us, the scenic miles rolling by quickly. The neighboring town was very small, sporting the requisite souvenir shop or two, as well as a small family owned restaurant. It was the lure of the cool lake water that had us all getting excited as we neared our destination with the kids asking, 'Are we there yet?', like they do every summer.
