This is a very cool 50's-60's Cocktail Dress made by "Moe Nathan-New York". The bodice is made from a knit jersey. The skirt is made from a satin taffeta. The dress opens up down to the last button on the skirt. The dress actually closes with snaps. The buttons and buttonholes are simply for decoration. The bodice is lined. There is an underskirt with a crinoline type net edge to give the skirt a little poof at its bottom. The hem is 6" wide. I don't know why it is such a wide hem as the dress does not look like it has been shortened.
Overall, the dress is in great, wearable condition. I can find no imperfections, wear marks, or repairs. 3 buttons on the skirt have a missing rhinestone. Luckily, they are on the edge and do not show easily. There is a tag on the inside the says size 12, but I would rely on the measurements.
This dress would be a fine addition to any collection. The style is timeless. It is the perfect dress for your next cocktail party, 50's-60's party, or a great gift for your favorite retro MAD MEN style girl!
