Handmade Catholic art features Mexican milagros (good luck charms) to bring blessings to your home!

This piece is built around a cool rustic cross filled with milagros (means "miracles") made in Mexico. This particular cross seems to be geared towards a woman or general family blessings, with charms for childbirth, children, luck, etc. I showcase it inside a distressed and stained wooden frame.

I covered the inside in rich rust colored handmade specialty paper, then placed a layer of coppery metallic ribbon down the center, and topped that with antique metallic grosgrain ribbon in black. I bordered the inside with rust rawhide leather. On the outside of the frame I cut strips of black textured leather trim, and then added antique black/gold cording around the interior side of the black leather. I used large silver upholstery nail heads to accent the corners and the rustic vibe.

In the upper corner I added a 1940s vintage milagro ex voto Sacred Heart from Argentina, topped with glittery copper gemstone bead. The piece hangs by thick rust colored leather.
