Little is known about this delightful and very rare fortune telling deck, created in Czechoslovakia around 1920 - 1930 for the Paramount Bead Company - ParaBeCo - of New York. There is almost no overlap with other oracle decks; it isn’t a Lenormand, or a Gypsy Witch, or a Sybil. Most of the cards and meanings in this deck aren’t found anywhere else. They give frank and sometimes very specific answers, and several are playful, even funny. This is a great deck for down to earth advice.
The 32 unnumbered cards in this replica edition have titles in English, and the meaning in French, German, and English, just as they were on the original cards.
The booklet features the original instructions, including several card layouts that are only found with this deck.
Parabeco also offered “Fortune Telling Crystal Balls;” 30 sided dice that could be used instead of cards. A replica die is included, along with the original instructions for telling fortunes with a role of the dice.
