The Arlo Vest sewing pattern is a modern take on a fully-lined vest perfect for both formal and everyday looks. It features a row of tiny buttons, crew neckline, optional faux welt pockets, fish-eye darts and a beautiful curved hem that opens up at waist level. All these details combined create the most effortless French girl look. This project is entirely serger-free!

This is an INTERMEDIATE PDF sewing pattern that is designed to help both intermediate sewists and adventurous beginners learn new skills for the first time. You will learn how to sew faux welt pockets, how to fully line a vest with understitching throughout, and hand-sewing an invisible stitch. Omitting the welt pockets makes the pattern more suitable for beginners as well!

Suitable Fabrics:
The Arlo Vest will look great in a light to medium weight woven fabric, such as cotton, linen, viscose blends for the main fabric. For the lining, use a lightweight fabric such as cotton or viscose voile, lawn or batiste. I recommend using something similar in colour to your main fabric, just in case your lining peeks out.
