Aggregate (cast #182) was cast using molten aluminum March 5, 2025, from a colony of red invasive fire ants and finished May 31, 2025. Its name is inspired from the number and complexity of the many tunnels in the cast. Paul Valéry, was a French poet, essayist, and philosopher, was nominated for the Nobel Prize in literature in 12 different years. In addition to his poetry and fiction, his interests included aphorisms on art, history, letters, music, and current events. We wrote, “Science means simply the aggregate of all the recipes that are always successful. All the rest is literature.” Aggregate’s round wood base measures 8.75” in diameter.
