Personalised Après-Ski Sign – Raised-Border Carved Wood

APRÈS-SKI, YOUR WAY

Après-ski is as much a part of a mountain day as the skiing itself—the stories, drinks and laughs after the last run.

Personalise this carved wood sign with the name of your cabin, chalet, home bar, favourite mountain, family or business. Add a place name, date, directional arrow or simple graphic to make it your own.

The raised border is carved from the same solid piece of wood as the rest of the sign. It is not a separate applied frame. Choose either a natural wood border or have it painted to coordinate with the sign.

This is not official resort signage or a replica. It is an original, ski-inspired wood sign made specifically for you.

PERSONALISATION

Enter your main wording exactly as you would like it carved, including spelling, punctuation and upper/lower case.

You can also include:

• A cabin, chalet, mountain, family or business name
• A location or date
• A short personal message
• A directional arrow
• Chairlift, skis, drink or other simple graphics
• Your preferred background colour
• Whether you want the raised border painted or left in its natural wood finish

If you have an idea that doesn’t fit neatly into the options, send me a message through Etsy. Many of my sign designs began with a customer asking whether I could tweak an existing idea.

HOW IT WORKS

Choose your wood, size and orientation.
Enter your personalised wording and other design details.
After your order is placed, I’ll prepare a digital proof and send it through Etsy Messages.
Check the spelling, layout and details carefully before approving it.
Nothing is carved until you approve the proof.
Your sign is then CNC-carved, painted and hand-finished to order.

Most signs ship within 1–2 weeks after design approval. Larger signs, larger orders and busy periods may require additional time.

HOW IT’S MADE

Every sign is CNC-carved from solid wood in my solar-powered workshop in the Monashees of British Columbia.

The lettering, graphics and border are carved into the wood itself rather than printed or applied to the surface. After carving, each sign is sanded, painted and finished by hand.

I’ve been making personalised ski-inspired signs since 2019, with more than 10,000 signs produced for mountain homes, cabins, ski families and adventurers around the world.

WOOD OPTIONS

Knotty Pine

Best for indoor use. Rustic character with prominent knots, natural grain and colour variation.

Clear Pine

The same species as knotty pine, selected for fewer knots and a more even appearance.

Maple

Smooth and dense with very few knots and relatively little colour variation. It machines precisely and produces a clean, refined appearance.

North American Ash

A dense hardwood with distinctive grain and very few knots. It carves precisely and is the preferred choice where greater outdoor durability is required.

Because these are solid wood signs, every board is different. Grain, knots and natural colour variation are part of the material rather than defects.

BEFORE WE START CARVING

Please check your digital proof carefully before approving it.

Pay particular attention to:

• Spelling
• Capitalisation
• Punctuation
• Dates and locations
• Arrow direction
• Graphics and symbols
• Border colour
• Any smaller supporting text

I will carve the approved design exactly as shown, so changes cannot be made once production has started.

WALL MOUNTING

Two recessed 3D-printed keyhole hangers are pre-installed on the back of the sign.

They slip over two screws for a clean installation that keeps the sign close to the wall.

CARE

Exterior-grade paints are used, and the front and edges are protected with a clear finish.

For indoor use, very little maintenance is required. Wipe gently with a damp cloth when necessary.

As with any solid wood product, avoid prolonged exposure to excessive moisture or extreme temperature fluctuations. Painted wood exposed outdoors will naturally weather and fade over time.

MADE IN BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA

I design, CNC-carve and hand-finish every sign myself in my BC mountain workshop.

Advent Wood Products is built around a simple idea: the places and experiences we return to become part of our story.

These signs are made to preserve those memories in wood.

SHIPPING

All orders are sent using a tracked service. Tracking information is provided through Etsy once your order ships.

Wood sign shipping to the United States is currently paused while tariff and trade conditions remain unpredictable.

If you have a firm deadline, please message me before ordering so I can tell you what is realistically possible.
