Just One Skein Scarf - A Rigid Heddle Weaving Pattern - PDF download only

Sock yarn skeins can be very special - especially yarns purchased as part of a shop-hop or yarn crawl! Can you weave an entire scarf with just one? Yes! This pattern does the math to help you figure out how long and wide you can work.

Written for newer rigid heddle weavers, the pattern breaks down different standard weights of indie-dyed sock yarn bases (based on the yardage per 100 g) and provides the warp lengths and widths you can achieve with just one skein, as well as recommending heddle sizes based upon the yarns themselves. Tips are provided for how to minimize warp waste, so you can maximize the beautiful weave! In addition, instructions are included for beading your weft (entirely optional, but oh so beautiful!)

Equipment needed: One rigid heddle loom with an 8-10" weaving width, either a 10 or 12/12.5 dent heddle, one shuttle. 10g of size 6 glass beads if beading is desired. Pattern assumes basic familiarity with warping and weaving, but provides tips and techniques useful for all weavers.
