The original lightweight rarefied/sparse 100% silk organza fabric from Uzbekistan. This unique handmade fabric is undyed and unbleached, has a natural ivory color, is perfect for nuno-felting, formalwear and bridalwear, couture & structured fashion, costume design and theatrical garments, accessories, home decor and crafts. Sold by the yard or by the metre.

Margilan Silk Organza fabric has natural stiffness. This sheer, crisp fabric is both strong and durable, featuring a firm hand and has a smooth, flat texture. Its open weave maintains stiffness naturally without the need for added stiffeners. It adds volume without weight and is ideal for shaping, layering, and decorative effects.

The fabric hasn’t been softened, is unbleached and untreated for a pure, natural finish.

We are a small artisan family brand from Uzbekistan, specializing in the all-natural pure Margilan silks and the exquisite hand-woven and hand-dyed Uzbek silk, cotton and velvet Ikat fabrics.

Usage:
Perfect for nuno-felting, home decor, fashion, costume design projects and theater stage decorations. Margilan organza silk brings a beautiful sheen, softness, and unique texture to nuno-felted wearables and wall hangings. The fabric is also known as gossamer silk or butterfly silk. It is Ideal for Nuno felting. When scrunched up it will provide surface texture, when laid flat and integrated, it enhances stability without adding significant weight. It’s also excellent for securing elements like nepps and felted pebbles. Perfect for crafting fine felted garments with an elegant drape.

Margilan silks are famous for their unique natural brilliant pearl shine and a rich luster. Margilan organza silk has a greater sheen than Chinese silks, allowing you to create beautifully textured designs with brilliant luster while keeping your creations lightweight.
