Climbing Rose Eden Climber Red 4" Pot Live Starter Plant Own Root Not Grafted With Foliage

Important Cold Weather Shipping Notice:

Heat packs are recommended below 40°F but are optional.

Orders without a heat pack will be held until temperatures remain consistently at 38°F or above. With a heat pack, we may ship at 33°F or above. We do not ship at 32°F or below, even with a heat pack.

We monitor temperatures at our greenhouse, your location, and along the shipping route.

Weather-Related Shipping Delays:

Cold weather delays may last several weeks or even months. Your plants will remain in our greenhouse and receive proper care until safe to ship.

Due to Etsy's shipping date limitations, your order may be marked as shipped before leaving our greenhouse. Shipping labels may be canceled and replaced as needed.

If you are not comfortable with extended shipping delays, please wait to place your order until temperatures improve. This helps us manage greenhouse space and care for plants awaiting shipment.

SEASONAL & DEFOLIATION NOTICE

Roses are deciduous and naturally begin preparing for dormancy as fall approaches. During late summer and fall, yellowing leaves, leaf drop, and weathered or spotted foliage are normal seasonal changes. The timing and amount of leaf loss can vary by variety and growing conditions.

Plants purchased during these periods may arrive with reduced foliage, little to no foliage, or may shed additional leaves after arrival. This is normal and does not mean the plant is unhealthy.

Please only purchase if you are comfortable receiving a seasonally trimmed plant.

Care Note

Roses should not be fertilized while in a resting stage. If your rose flushes new leaves in winter under warm, bright conditions, you may begin a light balanced fertilizer program to support that growth. Otherwise, wait until spring when steady new growth appears before resuming regular feeding.

Growth Timing Notice

Roses naturally cycle through periods of active growth and slower growth throughout the year. Visible new growth may not always be present at the time of shipment. This is normal, especially for young own-root roses, which prioritize root development and plant establishment before pushing new foliage.

Growth rate and leaf production depend on temperature, daylight, and local growing conditions. Once conditions are favorable, your plant will resume active growth.

Important Note About Bloom Color:

Young roses may produce their first blooms with colors or forms that differ from the mature characteristics of the variety. Bloom color can also be significantly affected by temperature, sunlight, and other growing conditions. Heat in particular can cause colors to appear lighter, faded, or different in tone.

As the plant matures, becomes established, and produces additional bloom cycles, its characteristic color and flower form will become more apparent.

Cooler temperatures may also produce deeper, richer coloration. Please allow your young rose several bloom cycles before evaluating its mature bloom color.

Cane Size Notice

These roses are grown on their own roots (not grafted) and are propagated in batches. Because of this, cane thickness varies depending on the original cutting size.

Cane Appearance Notice

Rose stems may range in color from green to brown or woody in appearance as they mature. This is normal and indicates healthy, established growth—not disease or decline. Older starter plants will often have a hardened, woody base.

Both forms are healthy and correct for young roses:

• Fine canes — approx. 3 mm / 1/8" (wooden skewer size); flexible and developing, will thicken naturally

• Thicker canes — approx. 6–7 mm / 1/4" (pencil size); already beginning to harden and bulk up

Both are normal for own-root roses and will thicken as the plant matures. Cane thickness reflects propagation stage — not plant health.

Plants typically ship between 2–10 inches tall with flexible, developing cane/canes ready to push fresh growth once settled. Plants are one or more canes.

Shipping Stress & Recovery:

Live plants can experience cosmetic stress during shipping, especially during periods of extreme heat or cold. Signs of shipping stress can include, but are not limited to, minor leaf damage, temporary wilting, or slight discoloration.

If your plant arrives stressed but viable, we are happy to provide guidance and recovery recommendations. Many plants recover with time and proper care. Paying close attention to the planting and watering instructions above is especially important during the recovery period.

If you prefer not to attempt recovery, we will gladly provide a prepaid return shipping label. To be eligible for a refund, damaged, stressed, or otherwise unsatisfactory plants must be returned.

Once the returned item(s) are received, a refund will be issued.

Please note that we do not offer replacements.

Photos must be provided within 24 hours of delivery for any shipping related concern.

Please include clear photos of the plant. If the shipping box or packaging materials are damaged, please include clear photos of the damage as well.

We offer a 7-day return window

Orders with an incorrect or undeliverable shipping address provided by the buyer are non-refundable. Please verify your shipping address before placing your order.
