Custom Fees, Import Duties & Delivery Refusals

Import duties and customs charges are set by local authorities in the destination country and are the responsibility of the buyer. These fees are not controlled or determined by us. Buyers are responsible for any local import taxes. UK / EU Orders: Purchases exceeding approximately £135 / €150 may be subject to import duties or taxes collected at the time of delivery. For lower-value orders, Etsy may automatically collect VAT during checkout. USA Orders: All shipments to the USA are sent as DDP (Delivered Duty Paid). This means that customs duties and import taxes are prepaid, and no additional fees should be charged upon delivery.

Please be aware that any costs incurred during this process will be deducted from the refund, including: Original shipping costs Return shipping fees Carrier processing or storage charges Any customs-related fees billed to us Please note: International return shipments can be costly. If return expenses exceed the value of the item, the shipping carrier may dispose of the package. In such cases, we are unable to issue a refund.

Very good customer service: the seller was consistently polite and responsive throughout the process. Unfortunately, I was unable to receive the item due to unexpectedly high import duties, which ended up nearly doubling the total cost. While additional fees were mentioned, the potential extent of these charges was not entirely clear beforehand. Etsy ultimately processed a refund, so there was no financial loss. I would simply recommend that future buyers carefully check possible import duties in advance, especially for deliveries within the EU.
