  • Made to order

Seller's description

Bring the warmth, aroma, and natural beauty of Eastern Red Cedar into your bathroom with a handcrafted wooden bath mat made for showers, tubs, saunas, spas, and other wet spaces. Each Root Vida cedar bath mat is built by hand in the USA and can be made in custom sizes to fit your space.

WHY EASTERN RED CEDAR?

Unlike an ordinary fabric bath rug, our raised slatted design allows water and air to move beneath the mat so your feet stay above the wet floor. Eastern Red Cedar is naturally aromatic, rot resistant, and well suited to the wet/dry cycles of a bathroom or shower.

Every mat is finished with food-grade mineral oil to highlight the cedar’s rich natural color and grain.

BUILT FOR BARE FEET

• Handcrafted from genuine Eastern Red Cedar
• Rubber-dipped runners help grip smooth flooring
• Raised slatted construction encourages drainage and airflow
• Naturally aromatic and resistant to rot and moisture
• Smoothly sanded edges and surfaces
• No exposed metal fasteners
• Finished with food-grade mineral oil
• Made in the USA
• Custom sizes available

Because every board of cedar is unique, natural variations in grain, knots, and color are part of the character of your mat.

WHERE CAN I USE IT?

Our cedar wood mats work beautifully beside a bathtub, in or outside a walk-in shower, in a sauna or spa, beside an outdoor shower, or near a pool or cold plunge.

They’re also a great option for RVs and campers where a raised, quick-draining surface can be especially useful.

CUSTOM SIZES ARE OUR SPECIALTY

Need something other than a standard bath mat?

We regularly build custom cedar mats for walk-in showers, unusual bathroom footprints, saunas, RVs, outdoor showers, and large spaces.

Use the sizing guide in the listing photos to select the appropriate Custom Size Tier. If you don’t see your dimensions or aren’t sure which tier to choose, simply message us with the length and width you need. We’ll tell you exactly which option to order.

Very large or unusually shaped mats may require a custom quote.

CARE

Eastern Red Cedar will naturally change in appearance with use and exposure to water. We recommend periodically applying food-grade mineral oil if you’d like to maintain the wood’s richer original color.

Allow the mat to dry between uses when practical. Like any wet surface, the mat should be kept clean and maintained appropriately.

OPTIONAL PERSONALIZED ENGRAVING

Want to turn your mat into a one-of-a-kind piece? Personalized engraving is available for names, dates, coordinates, text, logos, handwriting, symbols, and custom artwork.

Engraving options begin at $95. Message us before ordering if you’d like help choosing the right engraving option.

HANDMADE BY ROOT VIDA

Every Root Vida bath mat is individually built, sanded, finished, and inspected by hand. This isn’t a mass-produced bamboo or teak mat. It’s a piece of handcrafted Eastern Red Cedar made specifically for your home.
