The patterns in this paperless DIY Men's Kimono 4 Pack, Haori Jacket, Yukata, Unlined Kimono and Fully Lined Kimono, sewing pattern pack are easy to sew with western fabrics and includes instructions for cutting narrow and wide width fabric.
You can create not just the full Kimono ensemble but also the relaxing, cotton yukata for a more casual choice! The patterns include elements of the traditional Japanese Kimono but have been modified so they can be made with any fabric and easily sewn with a sewing machine.
The patterns include instructions on how to make a Haori Jacket, an Unlined Kimono (hitoe), Yukata and a Fully Lined Kimono (awase) from fabrics 110-120cm / 43-47" and 140-150cm / 55-60" wide.
You can make an unlined or lined Haori Jacket, Yukata, Unlined Kimono or Fully Lined Kimono that will fit any waist or hips up to 140cm / 55".

You don't need to print out any paper patterns. All 4 patterns are made to be paperless, they are logical and can be marked with a ruler, chalk and an iron.
It is so easy you will see!

Due to the simplicity of the pattern you will not need to print any pattern pieces. A Japanese Kimono is made up of 8 rectangles that all divided into each other in some way or another so all you have to do is fold, press and cut. Measurements are easily made with a ruler or tape along the straight pattern pieces.

You will enjoy just how easy it is to sew. Nearly all the seams are straight.
The process of adding the lining is rather simple.
The lining is made as a mirror of the Kimono and added at certain points depending on the way you are finishing your collars and all explained in detail in the pattern.
When you are buying fabric you will need the same amount of fabric for your lining and shell.

Such a fun sewing project for the intermediate sewer.

good easy guide, videos are very much nessesarry for understanding the directions though, his explanations are helpful in figuring out proper placement of the pattern and how to sew the peices together
