Highlights

Night transforms everything.

Under a deep indigo sky, a glowing red moon rises above an imagined landscape. Cranes move through the darkness, flowers emerge from intricate patterns, and rivers and mountains seem to shift between what is real and what is remembered.

There is something mysterious about the world at night. Familiar forms become unfamiliar, colors deepen, and the boundaries between what we see and what we imagine begin to dissolve.

This fine art print is created from my original hand-cut collage, made with traditional Japanese Chiyogami papers. I search within their intricate patterns for forms, movements, and fragments of color, cutting and reimagining them until they become part of an entirely new visual world.

I am deeply inspired by the beauty and visual traditions of Japanese art, and by the extraordinary craftsmanship of Chiyogami paper. In this work, cranes, blossoms, water, and the moon come together not to describe a real place, but to evoke something more elusive - a landscape suspended somewhere between nature, memory, and imagination.

What fascinates me is the moment when the materials begin to disappear. Paper becomes sky. Pattern becomes water. A cut fragment becomes a distant mountain.

And suddenly, what began as separate pieces becomes a place.

The resulting image feels both unfamiliar and strangely known - an imagined world that asks to be experienced before it is understood.
