This is the print version of a poster I made around 2010. I recently updated the artwork. The concept draws directly from 60s–70s magazines, gig posters, album sleeves, sci-fi book covers, and film aesthetics: a time period obsessed with today’s future. I’m deeply inspired and fascinated by the artwork coming out of this era. It continues to influence my work both visually and philosophically. This poster was originally created with real vintage materials: materials I collected, scanned, photographed. It is however completely original/unique. It isn’t meant to imitate the past, but to honor it.

The quote “We ourselves are technological devices invented by ancient bacterial communities as means of genetic survival” is meant to provoke an introspection on what it means to be human. If we're the housing, are we then more or less important than its inhabitants?

NOTE: The largest prints like 36" x 48" have a slightly different design than the smaller variations this is due to the typography being otherwise too big for that size.
