Highlights
"It is important that we relish the food we eat. If we cannot do this, but eat mechanically, our food does not do us that good it should, and we fail to be nourished and built up by it as we otherwise would be, if we could enjoy the food we take into the stomach" - Ellen G. White
Five‑Compartment Elegance
A rare early 20th‑century Limoges porcelain serving piece made by Union Céramique (U.C.), exclusively for Marshall Field & Co., Chicago. This refined relish dish features a luxurious central gold handle and fine detailing as well as five divided sections perfect for olives, nuts, and other hors d’oeuvres, and a gently arched floral garland border, all accented by sumptuous gold gilding. Ideal for collectors of vintage Limoges or those who love to entertain with antique flair.
In very good vintage condition: no chips or cracks; minor surface wear to gilding consistent with age and measures 11-1/4" in diameter and 2-1/4" height and has a Backstamp: “U.C. France” and “Marshall Field & Company Chicago” on base
U.C. (Union Ceramique) operated in Limoges from 1909 to around 1936,
