FAQ:
Q: Why did you write these letters?
A: While visiting a living history museum in New York, I was reminded that the U.S. Constitution requires a postal service, and my mind began spinning on how I could support this seemingly small part of our Constitution. Since I'm a writer, I knew I needed to tell a story, and what better way than through letters? Of course, I had to include romance (I don't know if I can write an interesting story without including romance!). And since we were "enveloped" in the 1800s at that museum, why not use that as the foundation for these letters?

Q: Can I buy multiple sets and send them as gifts?
A: Absolutely! This is one of the reasons I wrote these letters. Who loves mail the most? Those who don't get out as often. I imagined moms and grandmas getting this for their birthday/Christmas/Mother's Day. Or your introvert friend feeling loved because you were so thoughtful to buy them a gift that keeps giving.

To send to a loved one or friend, tell us the recipient's address and we'll take care of the rest. We can include a note that the letters are a gift from you if you'd like. Just let us know.

Q: What is your next book, and when will it be released?
A: "Next" is hard to define at the moment. I have a YA contemporary romance that I've submitted to agents, but since it is "clean," I've been told it won't sell. I may publish that next. Or I might publish my women's fiction next (though I might try for an agent and publisher as well). I'm halfway done writing it. I might also release Sushi Wars, the sequel to Bake Wars. My health scare this year set me back considerably, but there are many projects in the works.

Q: What kind of research did you do to write these?
A: Tons! I spent more time researching the time period, professions, customs, and words people would have used than I probably did writing the letters. Did I get everything correct? Probably not, but I believe I am close. And I took some artistic license to create the romances (strangers at that time would have been very reserved with their written words).

Q: Why not publish this as a book?
A: I will at some point. For now, Etsy provides more flexibility and higher margin returns. My plan is to use the revenue from Prison Letters to publish my next book(s).

Q: Are there any swear words in the letters or your books?
A: No, (unless you count the one *h word that was used in describing the actual place in Bake Wars).

Q: Do you love your readers?
A: Absolutely! I couldn't be an author without my amazing readers. I'm so grateful for all of you.
