A Frame Chicken Coop Building Plans

This charming 6'x8' chicken coop holds up to 10 chickens. Instant download and printable PDF plans include a materials shopping list showing all the building materials and hardware required, and thorough written instructions with 22 pages filled with real life color photos and helpful diagrams.
Plans are in imperial measurements only.

Highlights include a cedar shake roof (you can use a different material if you choose) and charming wood board and batten end walls. The coop features a 12" round window on both ends for cross ventilation, and has loads more ventilation under the roof to keep the air fresh and clean for thriving chickens. This coop is highly functional, predator resistant, includes nesting boxes accessible from the outside, and the large rear door opens for easy access and cleaning!

Building costs fluctuate and vary by region. Expect to pay around $1250 USD for all wood, hardware, and materials for this build. By using a cheaper roofing such as corrugated steel or shingles the total cost could be around $1000.

Recommended building tools include: tape measure (imperial), hammer, circular saw, jig saw, screwdriver, rafter square, level, tin snips, staple gun, chalk line and table saw.

The plans are written with beginner carpenters in mind, while still being simple and efficient for experienced builders.

The building materials required include common assorted lumber, plywood, pressure treated posts, and roofing material of your choice (ie shakes, metal or shingles). The materials used for the roof and end walls can easily be switched to a different material of your choice.

If you have any questions before or after your purchase, I will be happy to assist you!
