How do I color digitally?

You can color digitally by importing the downloaded PNG, PDF, or SVG files into a drawing app that supports layers—such as Procreate, Adobe Fresco, Krita, Sketchbook, or Affinity Designer. Simply place the coloring page on one layer and add your colors on a layer underneath or above, depending on the app. Most of our designs work best with a stylus or touchscreen but can also be colored using a mouse. If you’re new to digital coloring, it’s fairly easy to find a quick how-to video for your app of choice—just search your app name and “coloring layers” for beginner-friendly tutorials.

How do I color traditionally?

To color traditionally, simply print the design on your preferred paper and use a medium such as colored pencils to fill in the numbered areas. You’ll match the colors in the provided palette as closely as possible using pencils or medium you already have. Other coloring mediums like markers, gel pens, or paints can also be used, but we recommend testing them first to ensure they don’t smear the printed ink. In some cases, a spray fixative can help set the printer ink and prevent smudging.

Do colors match a specific brand when printing and coloring traditionally?

The palettes included in the designs are not tied to any specific brand of colored pencils, markers, or paint. Instead, each palette provides numbered swatches as a visual guide. When coloring traditionally, you’ll simply match the numbered swatches to the closest colors in your own set. This approach gives you the freedom to use any brand or medium you prefer while still achieving the intended look of the artwork.

What's included in the digital download?

Your purchase includes high-resolution digital files featuring the Color by Number artwork. Each listing typically comes with a full-color reference image, an outlined version with no numbering, a numbered version with gray numbers, a numbered version with red numbers, a detailed color list showing RGB, hexadecimal, and HSL values, and a compact color grid with RGB color references. If the product includes multiple skill levels or color variations, these files are provided for each version. Artwork is delivered in PDF, PNG, and SVG formats. Color palettes come as PDF and PNG. All files work for both printing and digital apps like Procreate, Adobe Fresco, and Krita. Always check the listing description for exact details.

Can I sell or share these files?

No. All files are for personal use only. You may not sell, share, redistribute, or upload the original files or modified versions. This includes both digital and printed forms. If someone else is interested, please direct them to the shop to purchase their own copy.

What should I do if I have trouble downloading the files?

Make sure you're logged into your Etsy account—downloads aren’t available through guest checkout or the Etsy app. Go to “Purchases & Reviews” in your account to access your files. For further help, feel free to message me directly or contact Etsy support.

I'm having difficulty reading some of the numbers. What should I do?

Our designs attempt to provide a high level of detail and may sometimes include small areas with small numbers. This should not be an issue when coloring digitally because the design can be zoomed in and out as needed. However, when printing and coloring traditionally, you can open the original file on your computer or tablet. Then, zoom in to see any numbers that might be too small to see on the printed sheet. Note, the more realistic a design looks, the more likely it will have small areas to color, especially in high color counts.

What if I discover a problem in the files?

If you notice any issues with a product, please contact me right away. I’ll do my best to fix the problem quickly and provide updated files if needed. Your satisfaction is important, and I'm here to help.
